Managing Conflict of Interest Risks

Understanding the Risk
A conflict of interest arises when personal, financial or commercial interests have the potential to influence professional judgement, recommendations or decision-making.
Examples may include recommending products, services or systems from which undisclosed commissions, incentives or other benefits are received. Conflicts may also arise when individuals gain access to sensitive commercial information and use that information for personal advantage, including financial speculation or other activities that could undermine trust and objectivity.
While conflicts of interest are not always intentional, they can create risks for organisations, projects and decision-making processes. Identifying and managing such risks is therefore an essential part of professional consultancy.
Why Conflict of Interest Matters
DEISKO operates at the intersection of consultancy, temperature-controlled logistics, freshness preservation and technology solutions. With extensive industry knowledge and access to leading products, technologies and systems, there is a responsibility to ensure that recommendations remain objective and transparent.
We believe that trust, honesty and professional integrity form the foundation of every successful business relationship. Maintaining that trust requires openness regarding potential conflicts of interest and clear processes designed to prevent them from influencing consultancy outcomes.
Our Approach to Transparency
Where consultancy activities may potentially result in a commercial benefit for DEISKO through the supply of products, systems or services, this will be openly disclosed to all parties involved.
Where appropriate, consultancy reports will include alternative solutions and comparable technologies to support objective evaluation and informed decision-making. For projects in Türkiye this frequently includes multiple competing solutions. For international projects, local suppliers and implementation partners may also be considered as part of a balanced assessment.
Our objective is not to promote a specific supplier, but to identify solutions that best meet operational requirements, performance objectives and budget expectations.
Respecting Customer Decisions
The final decision always belongs to the customer.
Even when organisations choose solutions supplied by competitors, DEISKO may still provide consultancy, implementation guidance or operational support where requested. While we may not possess the same level of technical detail as the original manufacturer, we remain committed to supporting our customers in achieving successful outcomes.
Confidentiality and Information Security
Respecting confidential information is a fundamental requirement of our consultancy activities.
Information obtained during consultancy assignments will not be shared with third parties without the consent of all relevant parties involved. This includes manufacturers, suppliers, research institutions, technical specialists and other external organisations.
Where appropriate, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and project-specific information-sharing procedures are implemented to protect commercially sensitive information and maintain the trust of all stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
Managing conflict of interest risks is an ongoing process rather than a one-time exercise.
